The beautiful thing about Stoic philosophy is the advice contained within it is just as applicable today as it was when it was first written all those many years ago. We can learn a great deal from interpreting the advice provided and using it to our advantage as we go throughout our own lives.
All round, and in its joyous rest reposing; and if thou shalt strive to live only what is really thy life, that is, the present- then thou wilt be able to pass that portion of life which remains for thee up to the time of thy death, free from perturbations, nobly, and obedient to thy own daemon (to the god that is within thee).Marcus Aurelius. Meditations. XII.4
You can only live your life, not the lives of others. Do not waste your time attempting to live a life other than your own. Embrace the time you have on this planet and remember it is yours. If you can do this, you will live a virtuous life.
